I heard Avalon Airshow has changed its dates for 2021 - what does this mean for AIAC19?
Avalon Airshow is a major partner of AIAC, so the AIAC19 Congress Organising Committee are committed to postponing the AIAC19 Congress to be aligned with the Avalon Airshow in November 2021.
What are the new dates for AIAC19 2021?
The Congress dates for AIAC19 are 22 – 25 November 2021.
What are the new dates for the Avalon Airshow 2021?
The new Avalon Airshow dates are 23 – 28 November 2021.
Will the venue change for AIAC19 2021 with the date change?
We are currently exploring Melbourne CBD venue options and as this is an evolving situation, we ask that you allow some flexibility within your Congress planning. Be sure you are signed up to the mailing list where you will receive Congress updates as they are known.
The AIAC19 Congress Organising Committee is planning for AIAC19 to be conducted as normal, but in following the advice of State and Federal Health Authorities, please be aware that the situation might change and the Congress structure might need to evolve depending on social distancing and travel restrictions into 2021.
What options is the AIAC19 Congress Organising Committee considering for the Congress given COVID-19?
We are currently exploring a range of potential options to ensure AIAC19 is delivered to the high standard it has been in previous years. Below are some options being considered:
- If delegates are unable to meet in person, we will look at an online webinar option.
- If the normal format cannot be accommodated due to social distancing rules, we will look at a smaller conference option and or webinar/Congress option combined.
When will registration open?
Registration is not yet open; we will confirm this later in the year.
If I submit a paper that is accepted for the Congress and the event moves online, what happens next?
If the Congress moves online and your paper is accepted we will work with you on the online opportunities available, and we will ensure you have the correct tools to present to an online audience.
When will we know if the event will go ahead as normal?
At this stage we are planning the Congress to go ahead as normal, however the situation is constantly evolving. We will monitor the situation and keep this page updated with outcomes as the Federal and State Governments and other relevant authorities make decisions.
