Abstract submissions now open

The abstract submission deadline is 11:59 PM AEST Friday 24 June

All abstract submissions will be reviewed by the AIAC20 Committee. The AIAC20 Committee may accept or reject abstracts and their decision is final. The outcome of abstract submissions will be emailed in July 2022.

Presentation Types

Oral presentation

An oral presentation consists of a brief talk and question and answers session. Presentation slides are compulsory, and video clips and props are encouraged but not compulsory.

Should your abstract be accepted into the program it is a condition of presentation that an author must submit a Paper (peer/non-peer-reviewed). No paper no presentation at the Congress.

Poster presentation (only available for AIAC and SPACE submissions)

A poster presentation consists of visual information (photos, graphics, text, tables, and figures) that will be displayed at the Congress in a poster format.

Avalon Technical Presentations (Avalon Airshow)

A Presentation brief is sought on Application Technologies, relevant to Aerospace, under various stages of development for the “Technology Sessions” on-site at the Avalon Air-show (Wednesday and Thursday Mornings).

The focus and scope of the brief need to cover aspects of design philosophy, development status, system specification, trials, and TRL.

  • Application Status on Platforms (250 words)
  • Future Development Plans (150 words)

Important Information

  • The abstract submission deadline is 11:59 PM AEST Friday 24 June
  • Authors may submit multiple abstracts but only a maximum of two will be chosen for the program. If deemed appropriate by the committee extra submissions may be considered for a poster.
  • A presentation may be delivered by a maximum of two presenting authors, however, both presenters must be registered to attend the Congress.
  • If the abstract is selected, consent is provided for the presentation slides (for oral presenters), video, audio recording, and photos taken during the oral presentation to be used and published by AIAC20 including being provided to delegates of AIAC20.
  • Online submission is the only method for submitting abstracts for AIAC20.
  • Please note: your abstract will not be included in the program if you do not register and pay for your registration.
  • Presenting authors are entitled to a discounted speaker rate

Abstract/Technical Presentation Submission Guidelines

  • All abstracts submitted for AIAC20 must be prepared using the AIAC20 Abstract Template
  • The abstract must be written in English.
  • It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure that the abstract is submitted correctly.
  • Authors must provide a biography (maximum of 100 words) and photograph (a passport-style photograph in high resolution up to 2MB) at the time of abstract submission. Photos and bios for co-authors may also be provided but are optional.
  • Following abstract submission, the following paper templates should be used: Peer-Reviewed Paper Template, or Non-Peer Reviewed Paper Template.

How to submit an abstract

  1. Create an eOrganiser account to submit an abstract. Upon creating an account submitting authors will receive a confirmation email that the account creation has been successful. Please check the spam or junk folder if not received. Please contact [email protected] if unable to locate the confirmation email.
  2. Complete all the fields on the Submit Abstract page.

Post submitting

  • Upon abstract submission, authors will be sent a confirmation email containing their abstract in a PDF file. Please contact [email protected] if a confirmation email is not received.
  • The abstract should not be resubmitted for any reason other than if notified of a submission error.
  • Authors can view or edit their abstracts by returning to their online account and by selecting 'Submissions'. Edits can be made to abstracts until the review.

Requirements

  1. By submitting an abstract authors agree to the General Policies and Requirements listed above and the Speaker/Author Agreement.
  2. Presenting authors are required to register and pay to attend the Congress by Friday 25 November 2022 (co-authors are not required to register, though co-presenters are).
  3. Presenters that remain unregistered after the deadline will have their submission removed from the program and Conference proceedings.
  4. Following abstract acceptance a paper must be submitted to present at AIAC20.
  5. Failure to submit a paper will result in removal from the program.

AIAC20 Proceedings

All accepted papers submitted for AIAC20 will be published via the RMIT Informit Engineering Collection within approximately three months following the Congress.

Papers published on RMIT Informit Engineering Collection are findable via Google Scholar (and Google); NLA; EBSCO; OCLC; Summon and other database aggregators and search engines.

CPD Hours

Members of Engineers Australia can claim CPD hours for presenting at and attending AIAC20.
