Brad’s career as an Engineer, Technologist, Manager and Executive spans more than 40 years in the Australia and International Defence & Aerospace Sector. Graduating from RMIT as an Aeronautical Engineer, Brad joined the Government Aircraft Factories as an aerodynamicist, and flight control engineer, becoming part of the original design team of the Nulka Hovering Rocket Anti-Ship Missile Decoy System.
Brad spent 30 years with BAE Systems, holding engineering, technology and management roles in Australia including; Engineering Manager for Guided Weapons, establishing and leading the Autonomous Systems Program Group and becoming General Manager of the Aerospace and Autonomous Systems Development Line of Business. In 2013 Brad moved to the UK as the Global Head of Engineering for BAE Systems before returning to Australia as the Australian CTO and Engineering Director. In this role Brad established the Red Ochre Labs Centre for Advanced & Disruptive Technologies.
In 2021 Brad moved to Babcock as the Australasian Engineering & Technology Director and then becoming the Global Chief Engineering & Technology Officer, sitting on the Group Executive Team.
In 2025 Brad retired from full-time work and is now a Non-Executive Director on the Board of DMTC and an RMIT Professor of Practice providing Defence & Aerospace Industry based Strategic Advice.
